I just got back from Costco and I was hoping to make one of Laura’s Mad-Hattens. I bought the warehouse size bourbon in anticipation, but I failed to look at the recipe and realized I didn’t have Campari and a few other things. But I did buy macadamia nut milk and Laura had given me a macadamia nut liqueur so I began dreaming. After one sip I knew I had a winner! The Orgeat (an almond syrup) has been used in tiki drinks for decades and is delicious. The Macadamia Nut liqueur is sweet and smooth with a nutty flavor. The flavors combine to a smooth, creamy drink that brings you the Mac Nut farms on the Big Island. Come to think of it, next time I’ll have a chocolate covered mac nut with it!
Ingredients
1 shot Orgeat
1 shot Bourbon
1 shot Trader Vic’s Macadamia Nut Liqueur
2 shots unsweetened Macadamia Nut Milk
Instructions
Put all ingredients in a shaker and pour over ice in your favorite glass.
