My daughter Hanna asked if I liked drinking Whiskey Sours. She had just had one and thought it was the best new thing. I chuckled and told her that Whiskey Sours have been around a lot longer than she has. She then asked me why I hadn’t made one with a Hawaiian spin. I always love a good challenge!

I served this drink to Laura for the first time at her birthday party at our house. I can’t say it was the drink, but I took a picture of her doing the splits in my kitchen. I was impressed – she had just turned 58! So do the hula or do the splits but just stay active!

Ingredients

  • 2 shots whiskey

  • 1 shot pineapple juice

  • 1/2 shot fresh squeezed lemon juice

  • 1 shot Orgeat*

Instructions

Mix all ingredients and pour in a short tiki glass filled with ice. Don’t forget a maraschino cherry and a fun swizzle stick.

*Orgeat is an almond syrup you can make or buy easily on line. It really adds a great flavor to not only this drink, but to so many tiki drinks. Simple syrup would work, but the almond flavor the Orgeat adds is Ono (delicious).
