Sing with me…”The weather outside is frightful…” just kidding, the weather in Hawaii is beautiful! It’s 76 and sunny as I write this. Christmas in the tropics doesn’t include any snow (although it has already snowed on Mauna Kea this winter) but it does include tropical breezes and slippahs (flip flops!) While our mainland friends have the heat going, we’re harvesting fresh oranges, lemons and limes. Mai Tais are on every happy hour menu in Hawaii and here’s my spin for a tropical Christmas treat.

Ingredients

2 shots cranberry juice

2 shots orange juice (but pineapple works great too!)

1 shot dark rum

1 shot light rum

1/2 shot Orgeat*

Squeeze of lime

*Orgeat is an almond syrup you can make or buy easily on-line. It really adds a great flavor to not only this drink, but to so many tiki drinks, especially Mai Tais.

Instructions

Pour all ingredients in shaker to mix. Pour over ice in your favorite tall tiki glass. Squeeze in lime to taste. Cheers!
